Nepal Wins ACC Men’s U-16 East Zone Cup, Defeats Singapore by Two Wickets

Nepal secured the ACC Men’s U-16 East Zone Cup title with a thrilling two-wicket win over Singapore in Kuala Lumpur. Joy Thapa’s top score of 24 runs guided Nepal to chase 114 successfully.

Nepal secured the ACC Men’s U-16 East Zone Cup title on Saturday by defeating Singapore by two wickets in the final. Nepal successfully chased the target of 114 runs set by Singapore, reaching the score in 29 overs while losing eight wickets.

Joy Thapa was the top scorer for Nepal, making an unbeaten 24 runs off 53 balls, including three boundaries. Other notable contributions came from Shivansh Bajgain (20), Subham Khanal (18), Prasiddha Jaisi (17), Parimarjan Yadav (13), and Abhay Yadav, who remained not out on 10 runs.

Singapore’s captain Kapis Venkataraman took four wickets but was unable to prevent Nepal’s victory. Yuvav Pande took two wickets for Nepal, while Akash Teja and Vedans Gupta took one wicket each.

Earlier, after winning the toss, Singapore chose to bat first and were all out for 113 runs in 40.5 overs. Rohan Austin Arun was the highest scorer with 23 runs, followed by captain Riyan Naik (15), Vedans Gupta (12), and Akash Teja (10).

For Nepal, Abhay Yadav and Sushil Bahadur Rawal took three wickets each. Subham Khanal claimed two wickets, and Bipin Prasad Sharma took one.

Nepal had previously beaten Singapore by six wickets in the group stage.
