Dr. Tosima Karki Challenges DP Aryal’s Red Revolution Remark During RSP Extended Meeting

RSP central member Dr. Tosima Karki objected to Acting President DP Aryal’s “Red Revolution” remark, saying the Gen-Z movement was peaceful and wrongly portrayed.

Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) central member Dr. Tosima Karki has expressed strong disagreement over Acting President Dol Prasad (DP) Aryal’s use of the term “Red Revolution” in his political report.

During the party’s ongoing extended meeting in Sauraha, Chitwan, Aryal described the Gen-Z movement as a form of “Red Revolution.” Dr. Karki objected to this characterization, saying the term misrepresents the reality and spirit of the movement.

According to Karki, the Gen-Z movement was entirely peaceful and based on citizens’ constitutional rights to assemble and express their concerns. “It was the state that opened fire, yet the blame has been shifted to the protesters,” she said. “Labeling that tragedy as a Red Revolution is both factually and emotionally misleading.”

Aryal’s report stated that while the goals and demands of the Gen-Z movement and the RSP were not significantly different, their methods diverged. He argued that the RSP had envisioned a “Blue Revolution” through democratic means, but the Gen-Z movement acted before time.

Dr. Karki countered that interpreting the movement through the lens of political gain is inappropriate. “It is unfortunate to see attempts to discredit the movement after failing to capitalize on its sentiment,” she remarked.

The RSP’s extended meeting in Sauraha, Chitwan, has drawn more than 500 representatives. On Friday, Aryal presented the political report, while General Secretary Kabindra Burlakoti delivered the organizational report. Group discussions on both documents are underway and will continue until Sunday.
