Deputy Mayor Sunita Dangol congratulated Prime Minister Sushila Karki on her historic appointment as Nepal’s first woman Prime Minister, urging her to rise above retribution and lead with justice, unity, and good governance.

Kathmandu — Sunita Dangol, Deputy Mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, has extended her congratulations to Sushila Karki on becoming Nepal’s first woman Prime Minister, while also urging her to embrace the responsibility as an opportunity rather than an occasion for retribution.

According to Dangol, Nepal has entered a historic juncture where the need of the hour is to move beyond revenge or resentment and instead prioritize justice, equality, and good governance. “This is not only a moment of pride and honor, but also an opportunity to transform the country in line with the aspirations of the younger generation,” she remarked.

On behalf of Nepali women, Dangol expressed hope and confidence in the new Prime Minister. “We believe you will choose dialogue over conflict, unity over division, and hope over despair,” she said.

She further added, “We are convinced that you will honor the sacrifices of martyrs, respond to the voices of justice-seeking youth, and lead the country forward through a path of good governance.”

Dangol described this moment not merely as the leadership of an individual but as a collective journey for all Nepalis. She stressed that both political leadership and civil society must come together in unity to move the nation ahead on the foundation of consensus and cooperation.
