CPN–UML Chair KP Sharma Oli has said that Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ is now facing the consequences of forming alliances with leaders whose commitment remains uncertain. Speaking at a program organized by the UML Local Level Department on Wednesday, Oli remarked that Prachanda has brought together individuals in the unified communist structure who may not genuinely support him.
Oli stated that several senior leaders positioned at key ranks in Prachanda’s party are people who once worked closely with him in the UML. According to him, Prachanda will gradually experience the impact of having such figures at the core of his organization.
“My Former Colleagues Have Cornered Prachanda”
Oli said that those who formerly belonged to his circle now hold influential positions in Prachanda’s party hierarchy. He argued that the situation has left Prachanda politically surrounded by individuals whose intentions may not align with his leadership.
“He has placed people with inflated egos around him in the name of unity. Those same people have now encircled him,” Oli said. “The second, third, fourth, and even sixth-ranking leaders are individuals who once stood with me.”
Oli Claims Maoist Organization Has Weakened
Oli also claimed that Prachanda’s party has lost much of its original ideological strength. He said his former colleagues’ actions have weakened the Maoist organization from within.
“They have already dismantled the Maoist party. Now the force led by Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’ is the group carrying the Maoist identity,” Oli said, adding that the traditional Maoist organization under Prachanda no longer holds its previous influence.
