Nainsingh Mahar, head of the Education Department of Nepali Congress, has called for the immediate passage of the School Education Bill. Although the bill has been delayed in the Parliamentary Committee on Education, Health, and Technology due to ongoing consensus efforts, Mahar stressed that further delays are unacceptable.
He emphasized that the bill must be passed promptly, in line with the agreement reached with the Nepal Teachers’ Federation. Mahar made this demand at the inauguration of the ‘National Educational Musical Journey 2082’ held at Pragya Pratisthan in Kathmandu.
“It is irresponsible for the government to withdraw from the agreement with the Teachers’ Federation so soon,” Mahar said. “There are no valid reasons for delay; the bill should be implemented immediately as per the consensus.”
Mahar praised the contributions of school employees and reiterated Nepali Congress’s commitment to ensuring their professional security and respect. He highlighted that passing the School Education Bill is crucial for enhancing education quality in Nepal.
