Dhangadhi,  — A late-night fire near NAST College in Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City-4 on Sunday caused major damage, completely destroying eight commercial shutters. Early findings suggest the fire started due to an electrical short circuit.

Among the affected businesses, four shutters were operated by Helen Trade and Suppliers, run by Bishwaprakash Kandel. Three belonged to Pariwartan Impex, a wholesale clothing store, while one housed Center Point Restaurant. All were completely burned down.

The fire broke out at around 10:30 p.m. and was brought under control by midnight. Local residents and security forces worked side by side to contain the flames. Around 70 personnel from Nepal Police and the Armed Police Force were involved in the effort. Two fire engines from Dhangadhi and one from Godawari Municipality were dispatched to the scene.

Fortunately, the fire occurred after business hours, so there were no injuries. However, everything inside the shops was destroyed. Security has since been tightened in the area, and officials are currently assessing the total loss.
