Kathmandu – Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and his wife Arzu Rana Deuba are recovering after sustaining injuries during the recent Gen-Z protest attack at their Budhanilkantha residence.
On September 8 (Bhadra 23), demonstrators attacked the Deuba couple at their home. The Nepali Army later rescued them and arranged immediate medical care in Shivapuri.
Deuba suffered a deep head wound requiring 12 stitches and additional injuries to his neck. According to party spokesperson Min Bahadur Bishwakarma, his condition is improving. He can speak and walk, though dizziness and discomfort remain, requiring further treatment in the coming days.
At a central committee meeting in Sanepa, leaders discussed Deuba’s health. Bishwakarma told reporters: “Chairman Deuba has head and neck injuries but his condition is steadily improving. He is in treatment and able to communicate with colleagues.”
Arzu Rana Deuba’s health is also improving. The nature of the wounds suggests the couple may have been attacked with glass, rods, or sharp objects. Both are currently receiving medical treatment at the Military Hospital.
