Fatal Motorcycle Accident in Rukum East: One Dead After 150-Meter Fall

A man died in a motorcycle accident in Rukum East, Nepal, after his bike skidded off a narrow, slippery trail and plunged 150 meters. Police confirmed the victim was a 45-year-old local resident.

kathmandu — A fatal motorcycle accident in Rukum East’s Sisne Rural Municipality-4, Tatopani, claimed the life of a 45-year-old man on Monday evening. The victim, identified as local resident Dal Prasad Sunar, was riding a motorcycle with registration number Ra 3 Pa 4534 when it lost control and plunged approximately 150 meters down a steep, slippery trail.

According to District Police Office Chief DSP Umashankar Prasad Yadav, the crash occurred at around 6:30 p.m. while the motorcycle was traveling from Rukumkot toward Pokhara village in Sisne-3. The accident took place near Tatopani on a narrow footpath known for being hazardous, especially during the monsoon.

Sunar was reportedly dragged down along with the motorcycle. The pillion rider, Bhuvan KC, managed to jump off in time and escaped unharmed, police said. Despite immediate rescue efforts, Sunar died at the scene due to severe injuries sustained in the fall.

Locals describe the path as particularly dangerous during the rainy season, with frequent accidents due to slippery conditions. Authorities have launched a formal investigation into the incident.
