APF Officer Critically Injured in Rasuwa Flood Rescue Operation

An Armed Police Force officer sustained serious injuries after falling from a cliff during a rescue operation in flood-affected Rasuwa. He is being airlifted for treatment.

Rasuwa,- An Assistant Sub-Inspector of Nepal’s Armed Police Force (APF), deployed in a rescue operation following flash floods in the Lingling area of Gosaikunda Rural Municipality Ward No. 3, Rasuwa district, has sustained critical injuries after falling from a cliff.

According to APF’s Assistant Spokesperson Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Shailendra Thapa, officer Bishal Thapa fell nearly 10 meters down a steep slope while participating in the rescue mission. He sustained injuries to his head and knee.

Initial efforts were made to transport him on a stretcher toward Timure for primary medical treatment. However, due to the severity of his condition, these efforts were hindered. The Nepal Army is now preparing to deploy a helicopter for immediate evacuation.

Plans are in place to airlift the injured officer to the Armed Police Force Hospital in Balambu, Kathmandu, for advanced treatment via a Nepal Army helicopter.
