Nepal PM Oli Visits Rasuwa After Bhotekoshi River Flash Flood Kills 18

A deadly flash flood in Nepal’s Bhotekoshi River has destroyed the Miteri Bridge and left 18 people missing. PM Oli and senior officials have visited the affected area.

Rasuwa,— A powerful flash flood in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa late last night has caused severe destruction, prompting the country’s top leadership to head to the affected area for an on-site inspection. A high-level delegation led by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is scheduled to visit Rasuwa this afternoon to assess the situation.

According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Prime Minister Oli will travel directly to Rasuwa from his official residence in Baluwatar via helicopter. Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel and Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak are also set to fly to the disaster site separately.

Senior officials from the Nepal Army, Nepal Police, and Armed Police Force will accompany the delegation.

Authorities confirmed that the flood destroyed the Miteri Bridge on the Nepal-China border. As of now, 18 people, including Nepali citizens, have been reported missing, heightening concerns among rescue and relief teams.
