Kathmandu,— The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has announced a broad political dialogue scheduled for Friday, Kartik 14. The decision was finalized during the party’s secretariat meetings held on Kartik 9 and 11, General Secretary Kavindra Burlakoti confirmed.
In a statement, Burlakoti said the initiative aims to strengthen cooperation among reform-minded individuals and groups amid Nepal’s evolving political context following the Gen Z generation’s decisive push for good governance.
“After three years of parliamentary experience, we believe that dispersed reformist efforts must come together. The dialogue seeks to unite those working toward long-term national transformation,” Burlakoti stated.
Focus on Reform and Democratic Collaboration
According to the RSP, the event will provide a forum for discussion among new political forces, independent thinkers, activists, and youth leaders from Nepal and abroad. The party hopes the session will promote a sense of unity among progressive and democratic movements seeking systemic reform.
Burlakoti cautioned that the absence of collaboration among reform advocates could risk political regression. He said the RSP views the dialogue as an essential step toward building trust and shared purpose in the country’s democratic journey.
Three Key Goals of the Dialogue
The party outlined three main objectives for the upcoming discussion:
Develop a common understanding of the origins, outcomes, and reform messages of recent youth-led movements.
Outline a framework to promote democracy, prosperity, and national unity through cooperation.
Explore strategic partnerships for the upcoming parliamentary elections to enhance collective reform impact.
Dr. Swarnim Wagle to Lead the Event
Dr. Swarnim Wagle, RSP vice-chairperson and coordinator of the party’s high-level dialogue committee, will chair the event. The dialogue will bring together representatives from politics, academia, and civic sectors to chart a shared vision for Nepal’s political transformation.
