Kathmandu — Prime Minister Sushila Karki visited the Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology on Tuesday morning to meet renowned eye surgeon Dr. Sanduk Ruit. The meeting lasted nearly half an hour, but Prime Minister Karki did not share what was discussed. When asked by journalists outside the institute, she declined to comment.

Ruit Rules Out Entering Cabinet

After the meeting, reporters questioned Dr. Ruit about whether he was being considered for a ministerial role in the Prime Minister’s cabinet. He dismissed the speculation, saying his priority remains his patients. “There is so much work here. I cannot leave my patients behind,” Ruit said firmly.

Cabinet Expansion Underway

Prime Minister Karki is in the process of expanding her cabinet. Four members have been appointed so far, with plans to form an 11-member council. Her move to bring professionals and experts into government has drawn wide attention.
