Prachanda Announces New Party Headquarters After Protest Fire in Kathmandu

Prachanda, Chairman of the CPN (Maoist Centre), inspected the fire-damaged party office in Parisdanda and pledged to build a modern and more grand new headquarters with party members’ support.

Kathmandu — Under tight security, political leaders have begun making public appearances. On Tuesday, Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda,’ Chairman of the CPN (Maoist Centre), visited the party’s headquarters in Parisdanda, Koteshwar. The building had been heavily damaged last month after protesters set it on fire.

Inspection of the Damaged Office

Prachanda toured the offices and organizational units inside the burned-down headquarters. Despite the extensive destruction, he noted that some important materials had survived. According to him, party minutes, several computers, and a portion of the library were preserved.

Announcement of a New Headquarters

Following his inspection, Prachanda declared that a new and more grand headquarters would be built. “With the collective support of party members inside and outside the country, we will construct a modern and well-equipped office building,” he said. He also expressed gratitude to the staff and members who helped rescue documents and protect materials during the incident.
