Kathmandu – On Constitution Day, CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ said the party leadership is prepared to take decisions in line with the people’s aspirations.
At a program held at the party’s central office in Parisdanda, Prachanda noted that the leadership understands public sentiment and is ready to act, even if it requires a break in continuity.
Maoist Centre’s Identity and Self-Reflection
Rejecting claims that the Maoist Centre is no different from other parties, Prachanda said his party has a distinct identity. He remarked, “This party is built by people of a different mettle. The imperialist and reactionary forces may try to portray us as just another party, but that narrative is false.”
He also admitted that the party has faced shortcomings in the past, but said it has carried out reviews and self-criticism. According to him, both historical and current events have been examined, and the party is committed to making corrections for the future.
Stability, Reconstruction and Future Priorities
Prachanda said recent challenges must be taken as lessons to move forward with greater determination. He highlighted rebuilding damaged structures, preparing constitutional amendments for stability and development, and creating an environment for upcoming elections as current priorities.
Concluding his remarks, he added, “There is no reason to be discouraged. With high morale, we will rebuild, strengthen democracy, and lead the nation toward stability.”
