Oman — The Nepali cricket team will step onto the field tonight with renewed confidence as it faces Qatar in the Super Six round of the ICC T20 World Cup Asia & EAP Qualifier. The match will begin at 8:45 p.m. local time at the Oman Cricket Academy.
Nepal opened its Super Six campaign in thrilling fashion on Sunday, defeating the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by just one run in a match that went down to the wire. The hard-fought win has lifted the team’s morale, with another victory tonight potentially bringing Nepal a step closer to next year’s World Cup.
With that result, Nepal now has four points, level with table-toppers Oman. Earlier in the tournament, Nepal sealed its Super Six berth by overcoming Japan and has continued to show consistent form.
After the clash with Qatar, Nepal will take on hosts Oman on Wednesday and Samoa on Friday to wrap up its Super Six fixtures. Only the top three teams from this stage will qualify for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, to be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka in February–March.
If Nepal secures a top-three finish, it will mark the nation’s second straight and third overall appearance in the T20 World Cup — a proud moment for Nepali cricket fans.
