Nepal made an impressive start in the ACC Under-16 East Zone Cup final cricket match. At the UKM YSD Oval ground in Malaysia, Singapore won the toss and elected to bat first. However, Nepal quickly took early wickets, signaling their intent to restrict Singapore from posting a high score.
Within the first 12 overs, Nepal dismissed six Singaporean batsmen. During the powerplay, Nepal took four wickets and established a strong grip on the game. Sushil Rawal led Nepal’s bowling attack with three wickets, while Abhay Yadav took two wickets. Additionally, one batsman was run out.
By the end of 13 overs, Singapore’s score was 54 runs. Nepal had reached the final by defeating the host team Malaysia. Singapore advanced to the final after beating Hong Kong in the semifinals. Nepal had also defeated Singapore by six wickets in the group stage, which likely boosts Nepal’s confidence for today’s match.
The tournament also features a third-place playoff today between Malaysia and Hong Kong.
