Nepal Invites Malaysian Investors to Boost Infrastructure and Tourism Development

Nepal’s Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel has called on Malaysian investors to invest in Nepal’s growing infrastructure and tourism sectors, emphasizing strong government backing and promising business opportunities.

Kathmandu – Nepal’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Bishnu Prasad Paudel, has extended an open invitation to Malaysian investors to explore opportunities in the country’s infrastructure development and tourism sectors.

During a meeting with a visiting delegation from the Malaysia–Nepal Business Council, Minister Paudel emphasized Nepal’s favorable investment climate and the abundance of opportunities for private sector engagement. He encouraged the delegation to pursue partnerships and contribute to key growth areas of Nepal’s economy.

“Nepal’s physical infrastructure and tourism sectors hold immense investment potential,” Minister Paudel stated. “The government prioritizes policy clarity and investment incentives. We have always welcomed the active role of the private sector.”

Members of the Malaysian delegation expressed interest in investing in sectors such as information technology, hydropower, environment, trade, infrastructure development, and tourism.

The delegation included Pradeep Kumar Kukreja, Chairman of the Malaysia–Nepal Business Council, along with Dr. Chai Ki Khan, Ganesh Kumar Vanagah, MK Sangrah, and other business leaders. They reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing economic cooperation with Nepal.

Minister Paudel noted that collaboration between the government and private sector is essential for Nepal’s economic progress. He assured the delegation that the government is fully prepared to provide necessary policies, frameworks, and facilitation to support foreign investors entering the Nepalese market.
