Nepal Finance Minister Paudel Says Political Instability Factors Weakened

Finance Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Bishnu Paudel has said that the main causes of political instability in Nepal—monarchist influence, aimless politics, and opposition tactics—have lost relevance. He added that the current ruling coalition will remain stable until the next general election in 2084 BS (2027 AD).

Palpa — Finance Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Bishnu Paudel has said that the three major factors that once obstructed Nepal’s development and fueled political instability have now lost significance.

Addressing a press conference in Palpa, Paudel remarked that groups attempting to mislead the public, oppose the federal republican system, and create instability have weakened. He identified three elements that hindered development: the monarchist agenda, an aimless “flash-flood” style of politics, and the power-driven activities of the main opposition, the Maoist Centre.

“These were the root causes of political instability, but they have now been sidelined,” Paudel said. The finance minister also stated that the current ruling coalition would remain in place until the next general election in 2084 BS (2027 AD). He emphasized that Nepal is progressing toward stability, development, and prosperity, with the coalition serving as the foundation for continuity.

“This government will not collapse because of wishes, protests, or noise. The parliamentary arithmetic shows the coalition will last until 2084,BS” he added. Paudel visited Palpa to take part in the traditional chariot procession of Ranudeswari Bhagwati. On the occasion, he reiterated the government’s commitment to political stability and long-term development.
