Minister Balaram Adhikari Denies Bribery Allegations in Land Commission Appointment

Balaram Adhikari, Nepal's Minister for Land Management, denies allegations of bribery in the appointment of the Land Commission Chairperson in Kaski.

Kathmandu — Balaram Adhikari, Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation, who has come under public scrutiny over alleged bribery in the appointment of the Land Commission Chairperson in Kaski, has firmly denied any involvement.

Responding to questions raised by lawmakers during Monday’s session of the Federal Parliament, Minister Adhikari stated, “I am being blamed based on what others have said, but I am not involved.”

He added that if concrete evidence of a bribery deal emerges, he is prepared to face legal consequences. Emphasizing the importance of facts over speculation, the Minister called for a truth-based investigation.

Amid ongoing allegations of irregularities in the appointment process, Adhikari clarified that the procedure was transparent and that he had done nothing wrong. “If anyone has committed wrongdoing, let there be an investigation and action. But I am not involved in any such act,” he said.
