The Karnali Provincial Government has recommended the conclusion of the ongoing sixth session of the Provincial Assembly. A meeting of the Council of Ministers, held on Wednesday morning, decided to recommend ending the session effective from midnight tonight.

According to Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning and government spokesperson Binod Kumar Shah, the cabinet meeting also made several key administrative decisions alongside the recommendation to end the assembly session.

The meeting decided to transfer Provincial Secretary Dholkaraj Dhakal—previously stationed at the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers—to the Ministry of Social Development.

In another move, the government resolved to recommend to the federal government that the administrative center of Junichande Rural Municipality in Jajarkot District be designated in Ward No. 4, Luhadah, in accordance with a Supreme Court order issued on 21 May 2025 (7 Jestha 2082 BS).

The cabinet also approved the “Journalism Award Distribution Procedure, 2082,” aimed at recognizing and promoting contributions in the field of journalism within the province.

Additionally, a special monitoring committee has been formed to assess whether the implementation of information officers across provincial offices is functioning effectively. The committee will be led by the Secretary of the Good Governance Reform Division under the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers.

These decisions are expected to strengthen transparency, accountability, and efficiency within the provincial administrative system.
