Israel Approves Trump’s Gaza Ceasefire Plan and Begins Hostage Release Process

Israel has officially approved U.S. President Donald Trump’s ceasefire and hostage-release plan for Gaza, marking a major step toward peace and stability in the region.

Kathmandu — In a significant step toward ending the ongoing conflict in Gaza, Israel has officially approved the ceasefire and hostage-release plan proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office confirmed the decision in an official statement issued on Friday.

“The government has approved a framework ensuring the release of all hostages — both living and deceased,” the statement read, signaling the start of the ceasefire and exchange process in the coming days.

President Trump stated through social media that Israeli hostages could return home by Monday or Tuesday. The first phase of the agreement was reached through mediation by Egypt between Israel and Hamas.

As part of the agreement, Israel will release hundreds of Palestinian prisoners in a humanitarian gesture. The move is expected to ease tensions from the two-year-long conflict and create a foundation for lasting peace in the region.

According to BBC, the ceasefire deal represents progress on both humanitarian and long-term political fronts. Analysts believe it could open a new chapter in relations between Gaza and Israel.
