ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Asia & EAP Qualifier: Nepal to Face UAE First in Super-6

The Super-6 phase of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Asia & EAP Qualifier is set, featuring Nepal, UAE, Qatar, Oman, Japan, and Samoa. Nepal opens against UAE in a crucial match on Sunday.

The Super-6 stage of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Asia and East Asia-Pacific (EAP) Qualifier is now set. Host nation Oman sealed the final spot after defeating Papua New Guinea by 52 runs on Friday night.

From Group 1, United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Qatar made it through, while Nepal and Japan advanced from Group 2. In Group 3, Oman and Samoa grabbed the remaining two places to complete the Super-6 line-up.

Each team will now face four opponents from outside its original group. Results from the earlier group matches against teams in the same Super-6 pool will also carry forward. At the start of this round, UAE, Nepal, and Oman already have two points each.

Nepal opens its Super-6 campaign against UAE on Sunday. The team will then meet Qatar on Monday, play host Oman on Wednesday, and wrap up against Samoa on Friday.

Only the top three teams from the Super-6 will qualify for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, to be hosted by India and Sri Lanka in February–March next year.
If Nepal finishes in the top three, it will mark the country’s second straight and third overall appearance in the global T20 tournament.
