Trump Reaffirms Israel Will Take No Action in the West Bank

U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Israel will not take any unilateral action in the West Bank, emphasizing peace and stability as his administration’s top priority.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. President Donald Trump has made his stance clear on Israel’s recent move regarding the West Bank, saying Israel will not take any unilateral action in the territory and urging calm over the issue.

His remarks came after the Israeli parliament gave initial approval to a bill that would extend Israeli law to parts of the West Bank — a step seen by many as a possible start toward annexation. The move has drawn concern from international observers and peace advocates.

President Trump rejected the proposal, warning that such steps could harm ongoing efforts to bring lasting peace to the Middle East. “Our policy has always been focused on peaceful resolution,” Trump said. “Israel will not take any action regarding the West Bank. That is a clear message.”

Vice President J.D. Vance backed Trump’s position, calling the annexation attempt a “foolish political stunt.” He said the administration’s top priority is ending the Gaza conflict and achieving long-term stability in the region.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio also cautioned that Israel’s move could endanger Trump’s broader peace plan, which seeks to maintain a fragile cease-fire between Hamas and Israel. “This is a time for restraint,” Rubio said. “All sides need to act responsibly to give peace a real chance.”

Reiterating his message at the White House, Trump said, “Any aggressive action on the West Bank will not be accepted by the United States. Our relationship with Israel is strong — but peace must be stronger.”

The Trump administration signaled it will continue diplomatic efforts aimed at preserving stability in both the West Bank and Gaza.
