Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Vishnu Poudel has stated that attempts to divide the CPN-UML party have been successfully thwarted. The party’s highest authority unanimously decided that senior leaders, including former presidents, should not actively participate in party politics. This decision has led to the failure of efforts by factions seeking to split the party.
Speaking at a UML interaction program on Pushpalal Memorial Day in Butwal on Wednesday, Poudel, who also serves as the party’s vice president, emphasized the party’s unity as non-negotiable. He said those trying to create divisions within the party are now facing disappointment. “Some elements were still attempting to split the party, but the unanimous decision of the central committee has stopped their plans,” he said.
Despite continuous criticism and pressure, Finance Minister Poudel said the government is steadily advancing its objectives. He noted that forces trying to destabilize the government have conspired against it, but their efforts have been unsuccessful.
Poudel reaffirmed the importance of the alliance between the Nepali Congress and CPN-UML for national stability and development, assuring that the partnership will continue until the fiscal year 2084 (2027/28 AD). “This alliance will provide a strong foundation for good governance and progress,” he said.
Deputy Prime Minister Poudel reiterated his confidence in the party’s unity and government stability and urged all stakeholders to collaborate for the nation’s prosperity and development.
