CPN-UML Secretariat Meeting Scheduled for September 4 Ahead of Statute Convention

The CPN-UML will hold its Secretariat meeting on September 4 in Kathmandu to discuss and approve key documents before the party’s second Statute Convention in Godavari.

Kathmandu — The CPN-UML has scheduled its Secretariat meeting for September 4 (Bhadra 19) at 3:00 p.m. According to the party’s Head of Publicity Department, Rajendra Gautam, the meeting will focus on documents to be presented at the upcoming Statute Convention.

The agenda includes discussions and approval of reports on political, organizational, statute amendment, and commission matters. Earlier, a Central Committee meeting set for August 29 (Bhadra 13) was postponed, as party chair and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli was scheduled to visit China at that time.

Traditionally, documents to be presented at the Statute Convention are endorsed by the Central Committee beforehand. Leaders have indicated that a Central Committee meeting may still convene before the convention to fulfill that practice.

The UML’s second Statute Convention is set to take place from September 5 to 7 (Bhadra 20–22) at Sunrise Hall in Godavari, Lalitpur.
