Kathmandu — As Nepal moves toward forming a new civilian government, Chief Secretary Ek Narayan Aryal has said the bureaucracy is fully prepared to work with the incoming administration.
Speaking to journalists on Friday after inspecting infrastructure at Singha Durbar, Aryal assured that essential public services would continue without disruption. “Our foremost duty is to make sure citizens are not deprived of vital services,” he said, expressing confidence that service delivery will remain steady.
Essential Services and Security
Aryal noted that processes related to passports and foreign employment are already fully available online. He added that core services such as drinking water, electricity, and telecommunications are running smoothly, with instructions given to relevant agencies to further improve efficiency.
On security, Aryal said the Nepal Army has taken charge. “The situation is under control, and conditions are gradually returning to normal,” he stated.
Damage Assessment and Governance
The Chief Secretary acknowledged that administrative records had suffered serious losses. He explained that technical assessments will be carried out to evaluate damage to infrastructure and vehicles, and services will resume first from the less-affected areas.
“Talk that government operations have stopped is nothing more than rumor,” Aryal clarified. He expressed confidence that the civilian government will likely be formed from within Singha Durbar itself and said the bureaucracy has already begun the necessary preparations.
