Former office-bearers of the Nepali Communist Party have convened an informal meeting at the party’s Parisdanda headquarters in Kathmandu. Coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’s’ secretariat confirmed the gathering, which brings together leaders who previously held senior positions before the recent unification.
Coordinator Prachanda, Co-Coordinator Madhav Kumar Nepal, Bamdev Gautam, Bhim Rawal, Nanda Bahadur Pun, Agni Sapkota, Pampha Bhusal, and Mahendra Raya Yadav are among the participants. This is the first major internal discussion held by the senior leadership after the announcement of party unification.
Meeting Focuses on Province-Level ‘Unification Message’ Events
The meeting is reviewing plans to organize “Unification Message Programs” across the provinces. Discussions are underway to finalize locations, dates, and formats of these events. While the party has already unified at the central level, the integration of provincial, district, and lower committees remains pending, and leaders say the meeting aims to move this process forward.
First Strategic Discussion After Party Unification
On Kartik 10, several communist factions declared the formation of the unified Nepali Communist Party. Senior leader Bhim Rawal has also joined the new structure. The party received official recognition from the Election Commission last Friday, and organizational preparations have advanced since then.
Leaders expect the meeting to outline a coordinated roadmap for upcoming activities and clarify the remaining steps in the unification process.
